12. A Family in Wartime

This exhibition tells the story of how ordinary people braved the challenges of life at home during the Second World War through the eyes of the Allpress family, who lived in Stockwell, London. Featuring a model house of the Allpress family home as well as photos and interviews A Family in Wartime brings this time of courage, duty and determination vividly to life.

10. Measuring Time

In Measuring Time you’ll discover a rich collection of more than 500 timepieces. From sand-glasses to sundials, water clocks to wristwatches, trace the remarkable history of timekeeping. Clockmakers and watchmakers pioneered precision in manufacturing.

9. Michael Rosen’s Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake and Bad Things

An exhibition exploring the fantastic stories and poems of former Children’s Laureate and bestselling writer Michael Rosen. Children and families can discover immersive environments inspired by We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake, The Book of Bad Things and Uncle Gobb and the Dread Shed.

8. Penguin Beach Live

See penguins in their underwater world while the presenters guide you through the lives of  these incredible aquatic birds. Watch the penguins feed as they dive, jump and swim in their huge new pool.

7. The Wondercrump World Of Roald Dahl

A magical and interactive experience celebrating the work of the popular Children’s writer. Discover more about the author himself and play with interactive installations.

6. Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles

This Explainer-led interactive show features bubbles of all sizes going up, down, this way, that way, and all over the place… with a little help from the audience. Find out the secret Science Museum bubble recipe and you might even get the chance to step inside the famous human bubble this half term

5. Goosebumps Kids

Tom Salamon directs an immersive, child-friendly live theatre adaptation of RL Stine’s spine-tingling stories full of ghouls, ghosts and monsters including The Blob That Ate Everyone and One Day In Horrorland. Younger audience members will follow a spooky trail for 50 minutes through railway tunnels.

Recommended for kids age 5-11 years

3. Fly Kids

2. James Watt and our World

Explore the legendary attic workshop of engineer James Watt, preserved as it was when he died in 1819. The workshop is an astonishing time-capsule containing its original furniture, windows, doors and fireplace, and 8,430 fascinating objects left as they were in Watt’s lifetime. See some of Watt’s remarkable inventions that have shaped the way we live today and learn why he was heralded the ‘greatest benefactor of the human race.

1. Super Species and Deadly Birds

Watch super species demonstrate their life-saving natural survival techniques or majestic birds of prey showing off their deadly skills. Specific talk will vary on the day- check at the display lawn.
